Last project underway

My last project for my undergraduate degree is underway.  Here's a snapshot to give you a glimpse at what I'm doing with all these slate pieces.
Danger! Wet oily trilobite!

Carrying wet oil paintings home on public transit (bus-->subway-->streetcar) from York U is always delightful, *cough* but someone stopped me to ask why I was carrying a trilobite fossil around.  That brightened my day.

Love it! Wish you were closer, Glendon, I bet in person is stunning!

Very cool! Not only the paintings, but also that someone thought your trilobite was real. Sorry I haven't been keeping up as much, but those gears make me think this will have something to do with the "watchmaker?" I can't wait to see the rest of the pieces!

Very nice!

Those kinds of mistakes always make a fella feel good, do they not?

Looking sharp there. I can understand the mistake.

Thanks Tatjana! It's not much better in person, hahaha, the photo is kind of it. I will admit I love the blurry reflections on the wings.

Never worry, Heather, that incredible elephant drawing is worth whatever time. The advantage of blogging is catching up is easy. :-)

I hadn't thought of the watchmaker-allegory connection. That's kind of awesome. The short answer about what this will be is a kind of fossil taxonomy of flying trilobites. My professor suggested since it's made up, why make everything organic? Why not machinery?

Thanks Silver Fox!

Thanks Sean! It did feel good. Getting stopped in public about art always feels good. Almost makes the 90 minute commute by transit worth it to school.

Posts over 14 days old have their comments held in moderation - I've been getting an unusual amount of spam for a guy who paints trilobites. I'll release it lickety-split though.
