Movember has started.

Movember has started.

Thanks to C&S and S&C for their donations so far. On Twitter and Facebook, and I noted I wouldn't post any pictures of my moustache so far until someone made a donation. And I promised a cowboy hat.

Here's an Instagram for ya'll.

You can donate here on the Crusty & Dusty page to help kick prostate cancer in cojones.  The more donations, the more pictures of this magnificent moustache will appear here on The Flying Trilobite blog, on Twitter, Facebook and G+.

So, yeah: mixed blessing.

Try to donate once my banking situation in HK sorts out.

Just wanted to say I'm really don't like your blog's new layout or whatever it is using. I've lost my comments twice now due to the popups changing their mind. I could also see this being a navigation nightmare for a newbie. Had I not been subscribed to your site I would have given up (after this commenting debacle might not try that anymore if it fails once more)

Yeah seriously Glendon you might want to look into this popup format more. I lost that comment twice, and if I weren't already a fan of the Winged Trilobite I'd have given up...

It's a lot of flash for no gain. Just a lot of fancy sparkly tape to peel through to get to the awesome blog underneath...

Hey Craig,

thanks for the feedback about the new Dynamic Views. I blogged about them a few months ago, and decided to take the plunge and give it a shot. I did save a backup html file of the rest of my blog in case this doesn't work.

The advantage to this format is a more magazine-like feel, though I used a 3rd party css script to make me banner larger and allow it to roll instead of being sticky at the top of the screen. You can also click on "Magazine" near the top left, and view the blog in a number or other formats which is fun.

It does seem to be incompatible with Skype Toolbar in Chrome, and caused momentary freezing and crashing of the Skype toolbar until I removed that extension.

The other drawback is all of my gadgets are invisible, though the info is still there under the hood. Blogger Buzz says they are working on tying them in. It's all a work-in-progress.

I'm surprised your comments went missing. What are you using? Firefox? Chrome? I'll send feedback to them. I like the "popup" format. You click the post, it opens. Click for comments, they're there. For me it works faster than loading the individual blog page.

I'm still getting used to this format myself: on the one hand, I don't like some of the drawbacks. On the other hand, it's made me feel more excited about my blog than I have in a few weeks. But we'll see. I'm not 100% yet.

Okay, I see what you're talking about. I tried commenting without being logged into my Google account, and it popped open the old commenting page. I hit back, and what I written on the Magazine Dynamic View was still there. I copied it, logged into my gmail in another tab, then refreshed the blog, and pasted the comment. That's weird.

I'll pass it along to Blogger Buzz.

Oh, in the meantime, if you hate this view, try viewing it in Classic.

Posts over 14 days old have their comments held in moderation - I've been getting an unusual amount of spam for a guy who paints trilobites. I'll release it lickety-split though.
