What would make good iPhone case art?

RedBubble, the extraordinary company that makes my art prints, cards, calendars, clothing and stickers for my online store has now started making iPhone 4 cases.

So I thought I would ask: what images from glendonmellow.com or my dA Gallery would make good iPhone cases in your opinion?  What do you think people would like to be seen carrying?  This info will help me ramp up for the holiday push to sell some wares in my online store.

Darwin Took Steps? A pink parasaurolophus? Trilobite Boy? Please comment below if you have an opinion on this!

Also: if anyone is interested in financing a giveaway of a number of cases or other Flying Trilobite swag at ScienceOnline12 in January, let's talk!

I'd totally pick up a phone cover of Hummingbird Tylosaur!

Mind you I don't have an Iphone, but a smartphone :P

If I was to have a phone case sporting your art, I'd go for the Life As A Trilobite painting.

I too, do not have an iphone, but a smart phone--a HTC G2 Google phone actually.

Still! Awesome that you can do phone cases :)

Thanks for the feedback Traumador and Tygenco!

I was unable to resist designing a couple. I started with Darwin Took Steps and Goldeneye Trilobite.

I don't have a iPhone or a similar device, but from a purely aesthetic point of view, I agree with Traumador regarding the Hummingbird Tylosaur. In addition, the tardigrade (tilted 90 degrees to the left), the DNA candles, "The last refuge", and "Tra-la-la-lobe-ite" would also make nice phone cases.

Thanks Tommy! Good suggestions. Especially like the tardigrade idea.

How about cases for aging EnV2s with the paint peeling off? Now THAT I have a use for!

I'm kidding - that's really cool that they offer phone cases now. When someone orders one I do hope they send you some photos so we can all see how they look!

I had a crappy old phone, and so did my wife: after I started designing cases she, unbeknownst to me, went in and checked out our plan, and brought home 2 of the iPhone4 on Thursday! So now I can order a case and have a use for it.

Nice, that's exciting! Sometimes I wonder if sporting your own merchandise is akin to the lameness of something like bands wearing their own shirts on stage...but I wear my own designs all the time, so I guess I don't worry too much!

Glendon Mellow said...

I'm willing to be that lame. ;-)

As creators, if often feels weird to me not to wear my own creations. Around our living room, we have paintings by several artist friends, as well as a couple of pieces of mine. It would be strange not to.

Ha, me too! Really, it's some of the easiest advertising you can do.
