Nice painting as always, man, but what's the Religion In Science Foundation?
In your painting it seems that the snake is more eager to pick up the apple..it is like a strong visceral lust in snake's eyes and fangs..this might be a new perspective, a tricky one. Congrats!
Inchieri, my intention was to show a war over education - here in Toronto, the symbol for the school board is an apple. This apple is supported by a bough that has a double-helix on it. The child reaches for the apple of knowledge, but both the child and apple may be attacked by the snake.
The snake in the Garden is one of the most supernatural elements at the root of Biblical stories. I tried to show it forming out of mist and with menace in its countenance. The idea by many religions that too much knowledge is treading on gods' turf threatens the apple.
Nice Symbolism!! It's an unfortunate story in the U.S. and U.K. too (not sure about other countries. :P) Hence, why I've signed up for the Secular Coalition for America (or, rather, subscribed to their e-mails to stay up to date and sign petitions) as well as done other tiny things to show my support for Science Literacy and education (In my High School Speech class, I chose a persuasive speech to keep Evolution in Public Schools, which got me a pretty nice grade. ;))

that's what i love about art, that it is very subjective and has endless ways of interpretation. In this case i think we were about on the same page, and somehow i felt what you wanted to transmit. But your explanations are very useful, now it has more substance and you opened my eyes to see the new details, therefore they lead to a better understanding of your painting.
