Beware of Explodey Anklyosaurs
Beware of explodey pineapple anklyosaurs.
Sometimes they travel far distances before kabooming.

This post marks the return of Art Mondays on The Flying Trilobite! My posting has been a bit sporadic lately, so I think I'll return to this discipline that I held for a few years on the blog. At the very least, expect new art and art commentary each Monday.

I am amused by the expression on that anklyosaur's face--very much a "I'll do it! I'll do it! Don't make me!" face. Must be the big eye...
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for Art Mondays! Not only will there be more art, but also more inspiration :D
That Ankylosaur has so many things wrong with it I'm not even sure where to beginning remanding you for inaccuracies :P
ReplyDeleteNice. If I didn't know any better, I'd say this was an artistic poke at the current ART Evolved debate...
Love his devious expression, and the taunting of the T-Rex whose prespective we're seeing here ;)
This is wonderful. It reminded me of the Tanklyosaurus in Rick Meyerowitz's Dodosaurs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Traumador! I think I drew this around when those discussions started. I was thinking about my pink parasaurolophus for the ART evolved charity last year in terms of style, though this is a little rougher.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the anatomy for an anklyosaur probably owes more to The Thing from Fantastic Four than science. ;-)
And thanks John! I'll have to check out the Tanklyosaurus you mention. I like the name.
Tygenco glad someone noticed Art Mondays are back! And humbly proud you find them inspiring. :-) Thanks!
